Cyberpunk 2077 Seems to Be Returning to the PlayStation Store

Cyberpunk appears to be returning to the PlayStation Store. The game – which was removed from sale on the platform last year – can now be found by searching for its name, and appears with the tag ‘Just Announced’.

Currently, if you don’t already own the game, it can simply be wishlisted or followed in the same way as regular upcoming games. If you own the digital version of the game, it can be redownloaded directly from the store, and the game is updated to its latest 1.22 version.

We’ve contacted Sony and CD Projekt for comment.

After a hugely troubled and controversial launch, Sony made the decision to remove Cyberpunk 2077 from sale on December 17, 2020. Almost six months later, the game remains technically unavailable to new customers, with mysteries about its removal still yet to be addressed.

The process of fixing Cyberpunk 2077 has been a costly one for CD Projekt, which saw qaurterly profits fall 65% as a result. It hasn’t been helped by the major cyberattack the company was subject to, which saw company source code leak, and may include employee information.

This story originally suggested that redownloading the game only resulted in the original 1.00 version being available to play. This was due to incorrect information during the download process on PS5, and has been updated.
