Ghost ‘N Goblins Resurrection PC, PlayStation, and Xbox ports are coming early summer 2021, and that’s not all — the Capcom Arcade Stadium collection is getting more games and content, too.
If you’ve never played Ghosts ‘N Goblins, you’ve missed out on a pretty great arcade game from the 90s. Fortunately, Capcom has decided to make a shiny new version for the Nintendo Switch — and now it’s coming to PC and the other two consoles as well according to a press release from the publisher.
Ghosts ‘N Goblins Resurrection takes the same gameplay of the original and enhances it for the modern era (along with some better graphics, natch). Players can now select between difficulty modes and a second player can join in local two-player co-op.
Also Arriving: Capcom Arcade Stadium Getting More Games and Extra Content
Aside from the Ghost ‘N Goblins Resurrection news, Capcom has also announced a batch of new content for the upcoming Capcom Arcade Stadium.
Capcom Arcade Stadium is currently comprised of 3 “packs,” each of which includes games from 1988–2001. These games are enhanced in small, subtle ways to work on modern systems and it’s currently only available on the Nintendo Switch; that will be changing when the collections come to PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on May 25, 2021.
The new content announced thus far is pretty simple; new “display frames” will be made available for some games. (Display frames are the extra bits of art that take up the sides of the screen for older games that are in the 4:3 aspect ratio.) A package of these frames will be available for purchase (for 0.99) or as a pre-purchase bonus; specific frames will only work with certain games. There are going to be some other microtransactions here, too; for example, a new invincibility mode will be available for purchase on May 25 at the price of $0.99 or your regional equivalent.
Presumably, much like the Nintendo Switch, the Capcom Arcade Stadium launcher will be available for free and you’ll have to buy most of the games you’d want to play in bundles. Whether like on Switch 1943 will be free we don’t know at this time. There are currently three bundles featuring 10 games apiece; Capcom says that more game bundles are on the way in the future, although it has declined to name any specific games just yet.
When is the Ghost ‘N Goblins Resurrection PC Release Date?
