Big Sugar and Glowfish Interactive have revealed that Trifox is in development for Nintendo Switch.
You play as Trifox in this action-adventure game, a multi-talented mammal who, after his home is attacked, sets out on a mission to recover his stolen TV remote.
Taking inspiration from the golden age of 3D platformers, you must use your magic, might and marvellous gadgets to outfox your enemies in four dangerous worlds before reaching the final showdown at Villain HQ.
There are three different character types that you will come to rely on – Warrior, Mage and Engineer – each with their own class-based abilities and skills to unlock, whether that see you wielding a giant hammer, mastering magic or using a backpack full of gadgets.
“We had the first idea that led to Trifox in 2014, after we started the company and were figuring out what we wanted to do. The game back then was much more combat-centric, with less focus on the adventure itself,” explains Glowfish Interactive co-founder and developer Emiel De Paepe.
“Over time it grew as we added elements inspired by a bunch of games we loved while growing up, such as Crash Bandicoot, Ratchet and Clank, Jak and Daxter. Our aim is to bring the same joy to Trifox that people experienced when playing those kinds of games when they were younger.”
Trifox will release on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch worldwide in Q1 2022.
