The Sinking City is possibly one of those games you’ve seen advertised but never tried out. It recently had a re-release on Xbox Series X|S, and to give a players a taste of the game, a free trial has emerged on the Microsoft Store.
It’s not clear how much of the game is available in the free trial, but this sample seems to be strictly tied to the next-gen version. The game was re-released for Xbox Series X and S without a free upgrade for Xbox One owners due to an on-going legal battle with developer Frogwares and Nacon over the game’s publishing rights.
Still, it’s a good excuse to see how it runs on next-gen hardware.
With the Xbox Series X|S versions, you’ll see a resolution of up to 4K, 60fps support and improved loading times. The game throws you into a Lovecraftian horror adventure, as you explore and investigate the town of Oakmont. If you’re looking for something different, you can’t go wrong with checking out the free trial which is available now.
